High-pressure die casting workshop
The next High-Pressure Die Casting Workshop is at Pedeo in Oudenaarde on Thursday 25 March 2025 from 1pm – 4pm. It is preceded with a sandwich lunch from 12h, and held in English.
I am registering for the High-Pressure Die Casting Workshop on 25/3 in Oudenaarde (BE)
Interested in a workshop but 25/3 does not fit you schedule? The workshop is available at a later date in both Dutch and English.
If you want to be kept informed on future dates of the workshop, please feel free to contact us.
Purpose of the workshop
The aim of this workshop is to introduce you to the basics in about 3 hours.
The properties of zamak and aluminium, design principles, post-treatment and finishing, each of these perspectives will be discussed. After a theoretical part, you will get to see the production process live and be able to see and feel the (newly) cast parts for yourself.
A good understanding of different design techniques saves time. Designers make targeted choices early in the design process, avoiding classic pitfalls. So the concept phase is extremely important, as it determines the vast majority of costs over the entire life of a project. The same is true for the environmental impact.
The workshop is aimed at product designers, designers, R&D staff and die casting part buyers.
What do participants think?
The Pedeo High-Pressure Die Casting Workshop has already been followed by several companies. Besides designers, product designers, several students from colleges and universities have also followed the workshop.
- Rick Schildkamp (R&D Engineer – Dupo): “I found the High-Pressure Die Casting course very interesting and informative. In particular, the practical examples and design rules were very substantive and applicable. Highly recommended for future course participants.”
- Sebastiaan Verrept (R&D Engineer – Picanol): “Even as an experienced design engineer, I learned something from this workshop. It is mainly the do’s and don’ts in the design process of aluminium and zinc nozzles that I take away.”
- Frauke Willemyns (Junior R&D Engineer – Picanol): “The training helps me tremendously in designing parts properly for the Picanol group.”
- Jonathan Archie (R&D Manager Mechanics and Optics – Barco): “The better we understand the manufacturing process, the better the designs and quality.”
- Kristof Benoit (Sr. Mechanical Development Engineer – Barco): “There is a good interaction between us and Pedeo’s engineers.”
- Mathias Staes (designer – Studio Dott): “Experiencing the process live gives an extra dimension.”

- What is high-pressure casting?
- Differences between zinc alloy and aluminium
- Why high-pressure casting?
- Advantages over plastics
