The zinc die casting process consists in injecting molten zinc at a temperature of 425°C and under a specific pressure of up to 500 bar at high speed in a high grade mold.
An entirely automated die casting cycle consists of:
- closure of the die casting mold by a hydraulically actived closing system
- injection and cooling down (solidifying) of the aluminium
- opening of the mold and ejection of the part after cooling down.
The mold, which plays an essential role in the quality of the die cast part and in the security of the molding process, consists in a fixed part, a movable part and an ejector plate with ejectors.
